Carved Spiral

The signature Atlas twist. One length of hardwood, cut down into a rope spiral and then oiled until the grain comes up. Our most recognisable work, and the fastest mover in most shops.

Bone & Banding

The most decorative work we carry. Stems wrapped in fine bands of bone, brass and dyed thread, laid on by hand one ring at a time. These are the pieces that sell off a window display.

Turned & Beaded

Shaped on the lathe rather than carved. The whole stem is worked into stacked beads and rings, which is slower to make and gives the piece its weight in the hand.

Blond Wood

Pale, quiet pieces for shops that sell on form rather than pattern. Minimal turning, no colour, and a single piece of brass where the stem meets the bowl.

Brass-Banded

Turned hardwood where the brass does the talking. Every collar is hammered flat by hand and fitted to its own stem, so the seat is slightly different on each piece.
